It is a complete scoring and interpretation system for human figure drawings. Using HFDT you can do a complete qualitative evaluation and you can quantify cognitive impairment that may be associated with psychopathology, organic conditions, or mental retardation. The HFDT provides four measures of cognitive status: impairment score, distortion score, simplification score and organic factor index. Norms are based on a sample of 800 individuals (over age 15), including the following groups: nonclinical, depressed, antisocial, manic, paranoid, schizophrenic, organic, and mentally retarded. So you can easily compare your client’s drawings to those of individuals with various diagnoses.
